Bethany graduated from the Johnston Center at the University of Redlands with a concentration in International Relations and Economics. She worked in diverse areas from Education Reform to Investment Banking before joining her first startup in 2000 as a Quality Assurance Engineer. She evaluated a wide variety software until 2015, when she attended Hackbright Academy and renewed her passion for programming, data visualization, and Machine Learning.

Carlos is founder, developer, and mentor for startups - leveraging robotics to quantify and elucidate patterns in living systems. Most recently Carlos had the privilege of serving as the Director of the Innovation Lab (iLab) at Singularity University (SU) - empowering leaders and startups to leverage exponential technologies and solve global grand challenges. Carlos has ~ 4 years experience in molecular biology R&D, bioprocess engineering, and over 10 years industry experience in Bioinformatics, Pharmacogenomics, clinical and genomics lab automation. As an early proponent of preventative medicine using Genomics (and other -omic sciences), he assisted in some of the early designs of novel genetic analysis/ molecular diagnostic tools finding propensity and concurrence of hereditary disease. Carlos has a Masters in Bioengineering from UCSD and the equivalent of a Masters in Computer Vision and Robotics from INPG/ INRIA in Grenoble, France. Carlos likes to spend time adventure motorcycle and bicycle riding, and loves to hack 2D & 3D robots for fun - this all while listening to a great audiobook or some rad EDM.

She has worked as a massage therapist for over a decade. Jen sees the value in self care, as well as the importance of values and ethics of care in the world of technology. We live in these systems that bring out the worst in people, and Jen believes that we need to create systems that bring out the best in people. Jennafer grew up in a rural town in Connecticut where she was always the odd ball, and moved to Oakland in 2008 to find her people. Community is very important to her. She has done volunteer work with Burning Man and alternative queer communities since moving to the Bay Area. She has held workshops such as The Importance of Boundaries and Consent for Creating Communities of Care, and has curated safe spaces for women.
